Because you\u2019ve done &#8220;everything.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But here\u2019s what most healing work misses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">We don\u2019t just fear feeling something.<br>We fear being seen in it.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We\u2019re not just scared of our emotions. We\u2019re scared of what will happen if we actually <em>show<\/em> them to someone else. That\u2019s what keeps them stuck in the body<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Repression isn\u2019t just something that happened in your childhood. It\u2019s a pattern you live out every day. It\u2019s the way you soften your voice, manage your tone, over-explain, try to be palatable. It\u2019s the moment you feel something rise in your body\u2014but push it down before anyone can see it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We call it sensitivity. Or people-pleasing. Or anxiety.<br>But really, it\u2019s survival. And it lives in your nervous system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And it doesn\u2019t just affect how you feel emotionally.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Repressing emotions can lead to physical symptoms.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/331046538_Consequences_of_Repression_of_Emotion_Physical_Health_Mental_Health_and_General_Well_Being\">review of the research<\/a> shows that emotional repression is linked to chronic fatigue, pain, anxiety, digestive issues, and an overall decline in well-being.
